IEEE is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. IEEE style is a specific system of citation that guides authors who write for IEEE publications.
In IEEE style, sources are given an in-text number which appears in square brackets [ ]. The details of each source are provided in a reference list at the end which are ordered in the same order that the sources are cited in the text.
The citation number is placed at the end of a quote or right after the reference, even if the quote or reference is mid-sentence. Closing quotation marks are placed before the brackets and sentence punctuation is placed after the brackets.
Short quotations (a word for word replica from the source) are placed in double quotation marks " ". Long quotations are indented, in a block, without quotation marks.
Page numbers are added, if your source has page numbers, to the reference in the reference list when quoting or when referring to a specific detail.
IEEE style does not provide any details about cover pages.
