In this activity, we will look at some pictures that may be or may be not related to worksafe, and think creatively about what aspects of this picture might be researchable. Ask yourself:
- What kinds of objects are in this photo? How did they come to be there? What are they doing there?
- Who might interact with this space? Why might they be there? What kind of activity might they do?
- Where is this place? What is happening there?
- What concepts from your course might apply to this place?
Here is what I would like you to do:
- In a moment, I will put you into groups.
- Appoint one person to be your recorder of ideas to share.
- Examine your photo and come up with 5 keywords, at least, that might be a researchable topic in your picture.
- Your group will have 5 to 10 minutes to talk about this.
- When the 10 minutes are up, each group student reporter will share what your group came up with, which keywords were chosen.
- The student will list as many keywords as possible on the blackboard.
- The class will see what might be a researchable topic within those photos, and think about suitable databases to search in.
