This guide is intended to support multidisciplinary exploration, research, and scholarship in the area of LGBTQ+ studies. The resources provided within this guide are compiled both from the BCIT Library's own LGBTQ+ resources and outside sources. BCIT's own LGBTQ+ student club welcomes anyone who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirited, non-binary, pansexual, or asexual. The club hosts free social events every month (usually in the third week) that provide a safe, fun environment free of discrimination.
The City of Vancouver highlights community and local resources for LGBTQ+ residents and hosts both the Trans, Gender Diverse and Two-Spirit Inclusion Advisory Committee and the LGBTQ+ Advisory Committee.
The Vancouver Pride Society creates and hosts inclusive and celebratory events for all LGBTQ+ people, including the legendary Vancouver Pride Parade. The Society provides numerous ways to volunteer and get more involved in the Vancouver LGBTQ+ community.
