In this blog post APA provides guidance on how to cite ChatGPT and other large language models (e.g., Bard), algorithms, and similar software.

Facebook Post

Template:

Author. (year, Month date). Title. [format]. Application. post url

Example:

Global BC. (2020, March 2). How effective are homemade sanitizers? [Video]. Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/GlobalBC/videos/502542593661018/

Note:

This format can be used for posts in other types of applications: Tumblr, LinkedIn, etc.

TedTalk

Template:

Speaker Last Name, Initial(s). (year, Month). TedTalk title. [Video]. Publisher. url

Example:

Dannouni, A. (2019, September). How online marketplaces can help local economies, not hurt them. [Video]. TED Conferences. https://www.ted.com

Note:

When the Ted Talk comes from TED’s website, use the name of the speaker as the author. When the TED Talk comes from YouTube, list the owner of the YouTube account as the author, to aid in retrieval.

YouTube Video

Template:

Uploader Last Name, Initial(s). (Year, Month day). Video title. [Video]. YouTube. url

Example:

Instagram Photo or Video

Template:

Author (handle). (year, Month date). Title. [format]. Instagram. post url

Example:

Business Insider (@businessinsider). (2020, February 14). Podcast

Template:

Host Last Name, Initial(s). (Role). (year, Month date). Episode title. [format]. In Podcast Series Title. Publisher. url.

Example:

Thompson, D. (Host). (2018, May 31). Are smartphones ruining our lives? [Audio podcast episode]. In Crazy/Genius. The Atlantic. https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2018/05/crazygenius-are-smartphones-ruining-our-lives/570151/

Note:

The host may be listed in the reference entry or it could be the producer, etc - which is why you include the role of the individual you are crediting.
