If you are not sure if the work you would like to reproduce comes from a licensed resource, is covered by an Open or Public license, or whether your planned use constitutes Fair Dealing, please fill out the Copyright Permission Check Form and email it to the Copyright Office. 

The Office will typically be able to investigate and provide advice within 3-5 business days.

If you need to request permission to use or reproduce a copyright-protected work not covered by Fair Dealing or any applicable licences, please fill out the Copyright Permission Request Form and email it to the Copyright Office. Note:

• The Copyright-holder must be known for the Office to complete the Permission Check
• The Office cannot guarantee the response time of the Copyright-holder
• The Request Form must be adapted to your specific request by providing all of the necessary information
• A copy of any permissions obtained for the use of Copyright-protected materials for BCIT learning and teaching purposes must be retained by you, for your records
