Information about copying and copyright at BCIT

Overview

BCIT Library subscribes to online resources, which are covered by formal license agreements - these agreements outline permitted uses by the BCIT community of the subscribed content.

Database listings on the A-Z Databases page lists permitted uses in a link under each resource - including how the subscribed materials can be accessed or incorporated into Learning Hub (D2L), Course Packs, and eReserves
If there is no link to permitted uses for the online resource you are interested in, please contact your Liaison Librarian

Providing Attribution

Online resources which are used or copied with under the terms of the license agreement must carry an attribution statement which includes:

Citation information
Where the permission is from
That no further reproduction is allowed

Example:

"Copyright (name of publisher, copyright author(s), date of publication). This material has been copied with permission of the copyright holder. Resale or further copying of this material is strictly prohibited"
