3D printing |
3D printing is an additive manufacturing process where a CAD or a 3D model is made into a physical object by adding material layer by layer to build volume. It is mainly used for rapid prototyping. MediaWorks has multiple FDM (fused filament fabrication) printers and one SLA (Stereolithography) printer.
- FDM Materials: PLA – a polymer made from renewable resources such as corn starch
- SLA Material: Liquid resin cured to hardened plastic
- Requirement: an STL or OBJ file is required to print
- Costs: $ 0.05 / gram of material used for PLA and $. 060 per hour, a minimum spend is required for resin printing, please see our full price list for details
