Zotero is a free, open-source reference management software; consisting of two functions:

1. Library: A database of all the resources (e.g. articles, books, standards) you have used in your research
2. Cite While You Write (CWYW): Integrates with Word to automate the formatting and insertion of in-text citations, along with the compilation of a bibliography/reference list

Citing and Referencing your work ensures you practice Academic Integrity, and avoid plagiarism, through:

• Giving credibility to (i.e. strengthening) your arguments
• Acknowledging the authors whose work you have utilised
• Ensuring readers can separate your ideas from the ideas of others
• Allowing readers of your work to undertake further learning
